Lonely Birds is a song about how human beings tend to gravitate towards material goods rather than true connection. I observed this tendency as my body was broken, lying in bed all day, isolated from the world and yearning for connection. As I had lost most of my material life as well as friends, I realised that friendships and connection were the most meaningful.
