Where Cold Hearts Go To Pray
by Madelleine Müller
I’ve found my home here under the blue
The stillness caress my ears
Another world, no chaos, no harm
Only waves of grace to wash away the tears
In a different time a different space
Where eternity never ends
A merge of atoms in my brain
Where light and darkness don’t ever reign
So just leave me here, don’t drag me back up
No need to surface for air
I just want to stay in my own sacred space
Where the green makes for my secret lair
Just leave me down here
Till I find the desire to walk amongst the living
Just leave me down here
Till I feel the urge to no longer harden my heart
Just leave me here
In this sanctuary where cold hearts go to pray
I know you want me to surface again
I’m not done counting mussels and stars
Your sorrys don’t touch me they won’t lessen my pain
The darkness here cleans me like rain
So just leave me here, don’t drag me back up
No need to surface for air
I just want to stay in my own sacred space
Where the green makes for my secret lair
Just leave me down here
Till I find the desire to walk amongst the living
Just leave me down here
Till I feel the urge to no longer harden my heart
Just leave me here
In this sanctuary where cold hearts go to pray
Where cold hearts go to pray
I’m sitting here
Waiting for you to swim down here to me
It’s quiet here
In the deep where only lost souls hear our cries
I no longer want to live that way
Here our hearts will slowly die
Do not take me back for air
