THEY ONCE WERE CHILDREN TOO

This song is about childhood innocence, adult fears and the longing for simplicity amidst life’s complexities. It’s about the journey from an innocent childhood to the harshness of adult life. As I lost more of my body and became even more hidden from life, and being exposed to a darker side of life, a lot of the fears, anxieties and ‘stuff’ I had held on to as an able-bodied person living a privileged life suddenly stood out — some became redundant —  and I could observe them and study them.
